PSYCHOTHERAPY

Not accepting new therapy clients

Individual | Family | Couples

Individual therapy is focused on the mental health needs and concerns of one person. Family therapy is focused on interactions and issues within relationships and may include sessions with one person or multiple family members in varying combinations.  A family therapy model is often used to address parenting and co-parenting issues, parent-child dynamics, child complaints, and couples concerns.

My practice is open to children, adolescents, and adults. For child clients, services are typically directed to parents to help them better understand, affirm, and coach their child through the challenges they are experiencing.

I am licensed in the states of Washington and Oregon. Under the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT), I am able to practice telepsychology in 39 additional states. Please check here for an updated list of which states are participating. Therapy is only available using a secure HIPAA-compliant telemedicine platform.

Appointments and Fees

Contact me if you are interested in learning more or would like to become a client. If we agree that I am a good fit for your needs, we will schedule an appointment for an intake assessment and I will email you a link to a secure patient portal to complete paperwork prior to our first appointment. During the intake assessment, I will gather a thorough history about you and your family as well as learn more about the concerns that are bringing you to therapy. Over the first few visits, we will work together to determine treatment goals and a plan for how best to meet them.

Fees are $300 for the intake assessment appointment and $250 for subsequent therapy sessions. Appointments are typically weekly or bi-weekly and last about 50 minutes. More intensive and longer therapy sessions can be arranged on a prorated basis. Cash, check, and all major credit cards are accepted for payment. Reduced fees are available on a limited basis.

I work with most health insurance companies on an out-of-network basis.  If you choose to use your health insurance benefits, I can submit claims on your behalf and you are responsible for paying your co-payment or non-covered amount at the time of service.  Health insurance plans usually limit coverage to medically necessary conditions and may place restrictions on the type and number of sessions allowed.  In order to submit claims to your insurance company, I am required to provide certain clinical information including diagnosis.  Please let me know if you have privacy concerns and we can discuss this in more detail.

I highly recommend that you check your health insurance benefits and be familiar with your coverage prior to your first appointment. When contacting your health insurance company, you might ask:

  • What are my out-of-network outpatient mental health benefits?

  • What kinds of services are covered (e.g., individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, teletherapy)?

  • Do I need a referral or pre-authorization?

  • What is my out-of-network deductible and has it been met?

  • What is my out of pocket maximum for out-of-network benefits?

  • How many sessions per calendar year does my plan cover?

  • How much does my plan cover for an out-of-network provider?
